This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you visit gethrcertified.com (the "Site"), enroll in our courses or programs, purchase merchandise, request consulting or speaking services, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to information we collect through the Site and our Services. It does not apply to third-party platforms we use or link to, each of which maintains its own privacy policy, including but not limited to:

Keap (customer relationship management, contact forms, scheduling, and IDI Assessment intake)
Kajabi (waitlist, hosting, and enrollment for cohort programs such as The A to Z Certification Blueprint)
MindEdge Learning (HR Certified University course catalog, hosting, and enrollment)
Square (SWAG/merchandise store and payment processing)
HRCI, SHRM, HRCP, and HR Education Network (certification bodies and training partners)
YouTube / Google (embedded video content)

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party platform before providing information to it.

3. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide Directly

Contact and inquiry information: name, email address, website, phone number, and the content of messages you send through our contact forms or by email.
Enrollment and program information: details you provide when you join a waitlist for or register for a course, cohort, assessment, or program (such as The A to Z Certification Blueprint), including professional background relevant to your certification goals.
Consulting, coaching, and speaking requests: information you submit when requesting these services.
Merchandise orders: information needed to fulfill SWAG store purchases (processed through Square).
Testimonials and feedback: any content, reviews, or comments you choose to share with us or submit on the Site.

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system;
pages viewed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and time spent on the Site;
information collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 8).

Embedded content (such as YouTube videos) may collect data about your interaction with that content as if you had visited the third-party site directly.

c. Information From Third Parties

We may receive information about you from our training partners, payment processors, and platform providers (such as MindEdge, Keap, and Square) in connection with enrollments, purchases, and program delivery.

We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government identification numbers through the Site. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors, not stored by us.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

provide, operate, and improve our Services;
respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
process enrollments, assessments, and merchandise orders;
deliver courses, materials, coaching, and program communications;
send administrative messages about your account, purchases, or programs;
send marketing and promotional communications (subject to your right to opt out — see Section 9);
personalize your experience and develop new offerings;
maintain the security and integrity of our Services;
comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (for individuals in the EEA/UK)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent; the performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and marketing our business; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

Service providers and platforms who perform functions on our behalf (e.g., Keap, Kajabi, MindEdge, Square, hosting, email, and analytics providers), limited to what they need to perform those functions.
Training and certification partners (e.g., HRCI, SHRM, HRCP, HR Education Network) where necessary to deliver a program you have enrolled in.
Legal and safety purposes: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of HR Certified, our users, or others.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
With your consent or at your direction.

7. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

The Site contains links to and content from third-party sites and platforms (including the Square store, Keap pages, the MindEdge catalog, IDI assessment pages, and YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and support marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect Site functionality. If we deploy analytics or advertising cookies, we will honor applicable opt-out mechanisms and, where required, obtain consent through a cookie banner.

9. Marketing Communications and Your Choices

If you receive marketing emails from us (sent through Keap or a similar provider), you may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. We will still send you non-promotional messages related to your account, enrollments, or purchases. Our email practices are intended to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Privacy Rights

a. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect; request access to and deletion of your personal information; correct inaccurate information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share (for cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 15. We will verify your request before responding.

b. Other U.S. State Residents

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or sale. To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 15.

c. EEA/UK Residents

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We will respond to verified rights requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

13. Children's Privacy

Our Services are directed to HR professionals and other adults and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. International Users and Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and your information will be processed here. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent changes. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, communicated to you.
